Obsession.

Hello again!

It's me, Aalia and I'm here again to talk about something I just learnt and I really felt the need to share with you.

You know people usually obsess over celebrities, or fictional characters from television series or books in general right? What am I saying, I'm sure even you obsess or 'fangirl' over someone or something (idk some people out there can be obsessed with a non living object). Even I do, over many things which can't be counted. If you don't know what I mean, you've definitely seen someone who does this:

"OMG OMG I LOOOOOOVEEE ZAYN SO MUCH I JUST WANT HIM TO STRANGLE ME WITH HIS LOOSE STRAND OF HAIR THAT FALLS SO PERFECTLY ON HIS WOWW" *heart eyes emoji x200*

Fangirls.

No offense to Zayn fans, I personally LOVE Zayn myself.(it was his birthday yesterday aww <3)

But yes, that has become so common these days it's pretty much normal. But here's something that isn't normal. Obsessing over people, who don't deserve it.
When I say this, I''m not talking about any celeb or character or anything, they totally deserve what they got. I'm talking people like:

  • Your deceitful 'best friend'
  • Your 'crush' who's actually the biggest jerk
You get what I'm saying right? These kind of people are the worst to be with, but that would be last thing a person who loves those pieces of crap would want to hear.
Actually, even I have experienced it and so did two of my best friends(genuine ones). It's already quite painful being a victim, but when you see someone YOU love so much break because of someone THEY love so much who doesn't deserve all that love, that's waayy worse.
I'll tell you what happens.
So, you meet this person, okay? Or you don't even meet the person, you just see them. First meeting, they're nice and all. You like them and stuff. And then you get the idea that "aww this person is so sweet!" but everyone else keeps telling you to back off from them. You just listen and ignore what they say. You think "how could THIS person be so bad? They're as sweet as a cupcake!"
ok now I'm hungry :(
Anyways, you keep thinking crap like that till a point where you get obsessed, but you don't even realize it. Every one's warning you, but you can't see the negatives. Or, you do see the negatives, but you choose to ignore them thinking, "they don't make a difference to you". Also, that person is out there probably making conspiracies against you which everyone knows about, except you. They're all sweet to your face, you love them so much, you think everything is perfect, when its the complete opposite.
But then slowly, you start to realize things as their true colors come out,bit by bit. But it's too late now, you still want everything to stay together and not fall apart! What does this lead to?
Depression, anxiety, loss of sleep, and loss of friends, because some of them actually gave up on you.
You try to walk away at a point, thinking that you don't need this person anymore. But they pull you back. It's almost impossible to escape now.You think you're the bad person, and the only solution is to kill yourself.
So yes, that's what happens. And what I've told you is NOTHING compared to how it actually is.
You're gonna think there's no solution for this problem but obviously, every problem has a solution.
But here, the only solution is to try and try and to keep telling yourself that you hate them, and that  this is NOT what you deserve. Because it actually isn't! You deserve people in your life who love you and support you at all times, and who don't talk crap behind your back. And you have got to realize that you can get over a person in .2 seconds or in 2 months. It depends. But you've got to be patient and keep trying and someday, you might find yourself making fun of the same person. Or just cringing at how you were. But that also, it isn't your fault. It was an experience, you learnt stuff and look, you've grown up even more!

So yeah, I know this was an extremely long post but honestly it's also really important and I hope someone out there gets the advice they need through this post.

That's all for today, please comment on how you felt reading this post, and if it affected you in any way.

Introduction about the Common Girl

Hi!

Here's my first post on this new blog of mine. I've actually never had a blog before, so I don't have any idea about how this blog thing works, but what I've seen till now is that blogs are usually written about a specific topic like music, or literature or current affairs, etc etc. But I don't want to keep it that way, I want it to be my way. I'd like to start a blog on my life. When I say my life, I don't mean something like:

"Hello.
So today I met my friends during recess. It was fun. Nothing much to say about today. Okay gtg for dinner.
Bye."

I mean to view my thoughts on what I've been learning in my life, like the lessons we learn through our mistakes or through other's mistakes .It's like thinking out loud, and showing your thoughts to the world. I don't know if people are actually going to like this idea, but I have to mention the fact that 'Girl Online' by Zoe Sugg is my inspiration for this kind of blog. I've been wanting to start for quite some time but procrastination came in the way. Finally, a day like today came into the world

Before we start with the main thing, let's get to know each other better, yeah?
I'm Aalia Ansari, I'm a 14 year old Indian who lives in Doha, Qatar(check it out if you don't know where it is, it's near Dubai, UAE).I'm currently a 9th grader who's kind of suffering with an existential crisis as I do not have any idea at all what I'm going to do with my life. It may not seem very serious to you, but lemme tell you when you're 14 in an Indian household, you just have to know what to do in the future, otherwise you're 'doomed'.

I don't really know what to tell you about my interests and all, I think we'll let that go with the flow. But I'd love to know some things about you too! Please feel free to comment and tell me about yourself, I'd absolutely LOVE to be friends with you!!

So this is it for my first post on my blog. I'm just hoping you like it.

Lots and Lots of Love
